PPEC for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Integrated nursing and pediatric therapy for children with cerebral palsy in Miami-Dade and South Broward — daily PT, OT, and speech alongside skilled nursing.

    What is Cerebral Palsy?

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of permanent movement and posture disorders caused by non-progressive injury to the developing brain. CP varies from mild motor differences to spastic quadriplegia with complex medical needs, including seizures, feeding difficulty, respiratory concerns, and tone management.

How PPEC Helps Children with Cerebral Palsy

Children with CP often benefit most from daily, structured therapy combined with nursing oversight — exactly what PPEC is built for. At Blessed Pediatric Care, physical, occupational, and speech therapy are delivered on-site under physician orders, while nursing supports positioning, feeding, suctioning, and medication needs throughout the day.

    Does Medicaid Cover PPEC Services?

Yes. Florida Medicaid covers Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) when a treating physician certifies medical necessity. Blessed Pediatric Care is a Medicaid-enrolled PPEC provider serving Miami-Dade and South Broward families. Our intake team verifies eligibility, obtains prior authorization, and coordinates the plan of care at no cost to your family.

    Does Transportation Qualify?

Yes. Medicaid-covered non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) is typically available for children authorized for PPEC services. Blessed Pediatric Care helps families across Miami Gardens, North Miami, Opa-Locka, Hialeah, Aventura, Miami Lakes, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach schedule daily pickups and drop-offs.

    How Admission Works

Admission begins with a physician referral and a current History & Physical. Our intake team obtains the plan of care, verifies Medicaid eligibility, schedules a tour of our Miami Gardens facility, and works with the child's medical team to start care — usually within days of approval. Families are welcome to call (305) 260-6621 or submit a referral online.
