What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a neurological condition in which a child experiences recurrent, unprovoked seizures caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Pediatric epilepsy varies widely — some children are well controlled on a single medication, while others require multiple anti-epileptic drugs, rescue medication, ketogenic diet support, or VNS therapy. Children with epilepsy often benefit from a medical setting where seizure activity can be observed, documented, and responded to immediately.
