PPEC for Children with Seizure Disorders

Specialized PPEC support for children with seizure disorders, including focal, generalized, and mixed seizure types. RN-led monitoring and physician-ordered care every day.

    What is Seizure Disorders?

A seizure disorder refers to any condition in which a child experiences recurrent seizures, including febrile seizure tendencies, generalized tonic-clonic, absence, focal, atonic, and infantile spasms. Many pediatric seizure disorders are part of a broader neurological diagnosis and require careful daily monitoring, consistent medication timing, and a calm, prepared environment.

How PPEC Helps Children with Seizure Disorders

Our PPEC provides predictable routines, low sensory stress, and continuous nursing oversight so that seizure activity is recognized early and managed according to the treating neurologist's plan. Parents receive end-of-day reports documenting any episodes, medication response, and overall clinical status.

    Does Medicaid Cover PPEC Services?

Yes. Florida Medicaid covers Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) when a treating physician certifies medical necessity. Blessed Pediatric Care is a Medicaid-enrolled PPEC provider serving Miami-Dade and South Broward families. Our intake team verifies eligibility, obtains prior authorization, and coordinates the plan of care at no cost to your family.

    Does Transportation Qualify?

Yes. Medicaid-covered non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) is typically available for children authorized for PPEC services. Blessed Pediatric Care helps families across Miami Gardens, North Miami, Opa-Locka, Hialeah, Aventura, Miami Lakes, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach schedule daily pickups and drop-offs.

    How Admission Works

Admission begins with a physician referral and a current History & Physical. Our intake team obtains the plan of care, verifies Medicaid eligibility, schedules a tour of our Miami Gardens facility, and works with the child's medical team to start care — usually within days of approval. Families are welcome to call (305) 260-6621 or submit a referral online.
