PPEC for Children with Respiratory Disorders

Daytime medical support for children with chronic respiratory conditions — BPD, asthma, cystic fibrosis, tracheomalacia — across Miami-Dade and South Broward.

    What is Respiratory Disorders?

Pediatric respiratory disorders include bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), chronic lung disease of prematurity, severe asthma, cystic fibrosis, tracheomalacia, and other conditions that may require oxygen, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, or airway clearance.

How PPEC Helps Children with Respiratory Disorders

PPEC supports children with respiratory needs in a low-infection, climate-controlled environment with nursing-administered treatments, oxygen support, and continuous monitoring of work of breathing and saturation.

    Does Medicaid Cover PPEC Services?

Yes. Florida Medicaid covers Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) when a treating physician certifies medical necessity. Blessed Pediatric Care is a Medicaid-enrolled PPEC provider serving Miami-Dade and South Broward families. Our intake team verifies eligibility, obtains prior authorization, and coordinates the plan of care at no cost to your family.

    Does Transportation Qualify?

Yes. Medicaid-covered non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) is typically available for children authorized for PPEC services. Blessed Pediatric Care helps families across Miami Gardens, North Miami, Opa-Locka, Hialeah, Aventura, Miami Lakes, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach schedule daily pickups and drop-offs.

    How Admission Works

Admission begins with a physician referral and a current History & Physical. Our intake team obtains the plan of care, verifies Medicaid eligibility, schedules a tour of our Miami Gardens facility, and works with the child's medical team to start care — usually within days of approval. Families are welcome to call (305) 260-6621 or submit a referral online.
