    PPEC for Technology Dependent Children

Daily skilled nursing for children who depend on medical technology — feeding pumps, trachs, oxygen, monitors, and infusion devices — across Miami-Dade and South Broward.

    What is Technology Dependent Children?

Technology dependent children rely on medical equipment to support breathing, feeding, hydration, medication delivery, or monitoring. This can include G-tube and J-tube pumps, tracheostomies, supplemental oxygen, apnea monitors, IV pumps, and central lines.

How PPEC Helps Children with Technology Dependent Children

Blessed Pediatric Care is built around children who need medical equipment in their daily routine. Our facility is equipped with backup power, suction, oxygen, and crash-cart medications, and our staff is trained in the safe daily operation of common pediatric medical devices.

    Does Medicaid Cover PPEC Services?

Yes. Florida Medicaid covers Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) when a treating physician certifies medical necessity. Blessed Pediatric Care is a Medicaid-enrolled PPEC provider serving Miami-Dade and South Broward families. Our intake team verifies eligibility, obtains prior authorization, and coordinates the plan of care at no cost to your family.

    Does Transportation Qualify?

Yes. Medicaid-covered non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) is typically available for children authorized for PPEC services. Blessed Pediatric Care helps families across Miami Gardens, North Miami, Opa-Locka, Hialeah, Aventura, Miami Lakes, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and Hallandale Beach schedule daily pickups and drop-offs.

    How Admission Works

Admission begins with a physician referral and a current History & Physical. Our intake team obtains the plan of care, verifies Medicaid eligibility, schedules a tour of our Miami Gardens facility, and works with the child's medical team to start care — usually within days of approval. Families are welcome to call (305) 260-6621 or submit a referral online.
